Lycianthes rantonnei'Royal Robe'

Lycianthes rantonnei (syn. Solanum rantonnetii)

1859년 Élie-Abel Carriere에 의해 'Solanum rantonnetii'로 처음 명명되었다.

오랜시간 사람들은 'Solanum rantonnetii' 잘못 알고 있었고,

Carriere 는 Rantonnetius가 아닌 라틴어의 이름 'M. Rantonnet' 에서 왔다 생각했다.

1919년 Georg Bitter에 의해 Nachtschatten (Solanum) 속의 Lycianthes로 다시 정리되었으며,

오늘날에 와선 이 속은 Solanum 속이 아닌 Paprika에 더 가까운 속인 것으로 밝혀졌다.

바위바이올렛 : Streptocarpus caulescens

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

바위바이올렛은 제스네리아과의 여러해살이풀로 남아프리카가 원산지이며

학명은  Streptocarpus caulescens 이다.

영명은 꽃이 아래로 늘어지며 피기 때문인지 Nodding Violet 이라고 불리며

걸이용 화분이나 바구니에 많이 심어진다.

30~60cm 정도까지 자라며 잎은 작고 짙은 녹색이며

다육질이고 솜털이 나있어서 관엽식물로도 활용할 수 있다.

꽃을 이른 봄부터 늦가을까지 계속적으로 피며

화관이 나팔꽃처럼 튜브형태이고 연한 보라색꽃이 무리지어 핀다.

꽃잎은 5개이며 아래쪽 꽃잎 3개는 위쪽의 2개보다 크고

꽃 색상은 자주색과 분홍색도 있다.
